Settings

last updated: 2026-09-26

What each setting changes, what comes from your Shopify store, and how to tell whether your numbers are up to date.

The Settings screen has two things you can change and two that are for information. Save with the bar at the top of the screen.

Product ranking

Rank products by decides how your products are sorted into classes A, B and C:

  • Revenue — what a product brings in. The default, and always available.
  • Margin — what it earns you after its cost.

Class A products are those that make up the first 80% of the total, B the next 15%, C the rest. The class decides how much safety stock each product gets: the app aims to avoid running out 98% of the time for A, 95% for B and 85% for C. Ranking by margin protects the products that earn you the most instead of those that sell the most.

Margin needs costs: at least 80% of the products that bring in most of your revenue must have a cost in Shopify. Until then you'll see Margin ranking is locked. If you chose margin and costs later fall below that threshold, products are ranked by revenue until they're back.

The change takes effect on the next forecast run, tonight.

Receiving

Default destination is the location new purchase orders are received into — where the units are added in Shopify when you record an arrival.

  • Orders already open keep their destination. You can change it on any order that has not arrived with Change destination.
  • Locations deactivated in Shopify cannot be chosen.
  • A location with no address in Shopify prints the purchase order without a delivery address. Add it in Shopify with Open in Shopify.

How we read your shop

Information only. These explain how the numbers are calculated:

  • Time zone — from your Shopify store settings. Each sale counts on its calendar day in this zone, so a late-night order counts for that day.
  • Currency — from your Shopify store settings. Supplier prices in another currency are shown with theirs.
  • Look-back window — 365 days. How far back the classes and reports look: a full year, so a product that only sells at Christmas is counted.
  • Sales velocity — measured over days in stock, not calendar days. Three weeks out of stock does not make a product look slow. See How a forecast is calculated.

To change the time zone or currency, change them in Shopify.
